Our Story

Established in 1989, Providence Country Club is a full-service private club located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Its Dan Maples golf course is the center of activity anchored by 14 tennis courts, state-of-the-art aquatic and fitness facilities as well as modern dining and event spaces. Enveloping it all is a feeling of belonging and a place to create memories that last a lifetime.

Serving as the social hub for its active membership, Providence’s classic Georgian clubhouse combines traditional warmth with modern elegance. Its charming meeting rooms, dining areas and spacious ballroom are sought-after event spaces for wedding celebrations and business functions, in addition to hosting frequent member engagements.

Course & Clubhouse Improvements

Since joining the McConnell Golf portfolio in 2016, the clubhouse at Providence has been enhanced with $1.3 million in upgrades, including a new fitness center, kids room and golf shop. In 2018, the golf course was renovated by architect Kris Spence to restore bunkers, add new and expanded irrigation for better course conditioning, and transition the greens to Champion Bermuda.

This includes management of the top-ranked Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech in Radford, Virginia, and Raleigh Golf Association (RGA) in Raleigh, North Carolina.
